Dynamic Connections
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
36 x 48 inch
Price: $3800
Story Behind the Painting: The inspiration for this painting is likened to the expression when someone walks into the room and says, "Ta-Dah!" It is like, "Here I am!" It is very expressive, dynamic, and full of fanfare. It has pizzazz to it. For this painting, I wanted to have the Ta-Dah feeling, but because of the harmony within the piece, it wasn't just one person doing the Ta-Dah. It was the entirety of the whole doing it. It was all the connections that made the Ta-Dah so dynamic. It is the power of the group or the power of the supporting characters working together that makes it what it is. In the end, the dynamic connections make the entrance so dramatic.
Sunflower Dance
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
20 x 30 inch
Price: SOLD
Story Behind the Painting: These sunflowers were waving in the breeze. There was movement all around. Since sunflowers have traditionally been associated with positivity, happiness, cheer, good luck, health, and hope, my approach to this painting was direct and precise to coincide with the graceful and expressive act of dancing.
Abstracted Singleness
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
36 x 12 inch
Price: $1250
Story Behind the Painting: The inspiration for this abstract was a single tree, which I noticed standing tall alongside the road. It was all alone—a solitary self. It wasn't in a grove of other trees similar to its kind, but yet it seemed to have a sense of purpose and intention. I wondered what this tree might be like with its own unique personality and characteristics. Yet, in its distinctiveness, there seemed to be abstract qualities about it that made up the whole. I liked the idea of something that was a single unit but contained abstract qualities that were hard to define but nonetheless made up the whole.
"Single But Not Alone"
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
36 x 12 inch
Price: $1250
Story Behind the Painting: As I was driving through a very picturesque landscape, I noticed this single tree standing tall alongside the road. It was all alone—a solitary self. It wasn't in a grove of other trees similar to its kind, but yet it seemed to have purpose and intention. I liked the idea that someone could be strong within their own uniqueness and that you don't need other "trees" who are like-minded to survive. This tree was doing it, and it was this determination within the solitude that inspired this painting.
B.O.L.D. (Blunt, Outspoken, Loud, Direct)
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
34 x 48 inch
Price: $3800
Story Behind the Painting: I love how this painting is just in your face. I had so many words to describe it that I ended up for the first time utilizing an acronym. It truly is Blunt, Outspoken, Loud, and Direct. The inspiration for this painting coincided with the painting, “Conversations In the Shadows.” I wanted to have something straightforward using colors considered calming, like blues, greens, and yellows rather than more traditionally aggressive colors such as red or black. The large size also corresponds and complements the theme.

"Something Hidden"
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
36 x 24 Inch
Price: $2500
The Story Behind the Painting: I was walking along this trail on a hiking trip and I loved everything about this scene. I liked the water on the one side, the trail on the other and then this grove of trees right in front of me. I felt like there was something to be discovered, something exciting. If something is to be discovered, it means something is hidden—at least for the moment until it is discovered. I hope that you too can find something unique that touches you in a similar way as you enjoy this painting.
Rising Action
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
36 x 24 Inch
Price: $2500
The Story Behind the Painting: Rising Action is a literary term for the part of the story that moves toward the climax with its ultimate conflict or excitement. It includes all the relevant incidents that create suspense, interest, and tension in the story. It is all the decisions, characters’ flaws, and background circumstances that together create turns and twists leading to a climax. It was this feeling of building intensity that leads to the final climax of the story that inspired this piece.
"Fall Explosion"
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
16 x 20 inch
Price: $1200 (SOLD)
Story Behind the Painting: It was a beautiful fall day when I was driving in the mountains photographing the changing colors. Of course, the colors were beautiful, but I was really drawn to the vertical upward thrust of the aspen trees in this particular grove. The scenery right before me was so “in your face” and coming toward me and literally exploding that I wanted to capture that same feeling when I painted it. Therefore, to help facilitate this same feeling I had when I first saw this, I emphasized the coming forward motion and the verticalness throughout the piece.
The Unfolding
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
16 x 20 inch
Price: $1050
The Story Behind the Painting: I like the idea of something being unfolded. It reflects the mystery and the suspense of something being revealed a little at a time. It could be the unwrapping of a gift during the holiday season or the surprise that comes when a movie takes a sudden and unexpected twist. In this painting I wanted to capture the anticipation and excitement that we experience when something is unfolded right before our eyes as something new and unexpected is unmasked.
Vibrant Beginnings
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
16 x 20 inch
Price: $1050
The Story Behind the Painting: I love the spring time. Color is everywhere and the atmosphere is vibrant and fresh with life. The trees are budding, the grass is growing, and the flowers are starting to bloom. It is an exciting leap away from the deadness of winter into that which is new and full of life. I wanted to express that same level of excitement and vitality as I created this painting.
Summer Delight
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
16 x 20 inch
Price: $1200
Story Behind the Painting: It was a super-hot day in the middle of summer and what better treat than to slice a piece of watermelon. I was feeling and experiencing everything that one would normally associate with regarding the eagerness of eating that piece of watermelon on a hot day. As I was cutting the watermelon on the counter and seeing the pieces, my mind and eye went from simply cutting a piece of watermelon to actually seeing the beauty of what was before me. It was this event that inspired the painting.
Support for Something New
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
16 x 20 inch
Price: $1050
The Story Behind the Painting: This piece seems to have two activities going on with it. The blueness in the background and the strength that comes from behind the painted surface of this piece seems to support the activity, the vibrance and the feeling of something beginning or birthing that is taking place on the top. In some ways, it is like a Doula who comes to assist another woman during childbirth. They work together, each with a different role but working toward the same goal.
"An Invitation to the Experience"
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
16 x 20 Inch
Price: $1200 (SOLD)
The Story Behind the Painting: This piece has a series of invitations throughout it; invitations to experiences that are waiting for us. I feel like there are parts of this painting that I want to step into and experience. Then I want to move on to another part of the painting to experience that part, and then another, and then another. In some ways, it feels endless. I like the excitement that this piece gives and the movement it contains as it invites you in to experience something new and fresh each time you view it.
The Single Trees-Triptych
Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas over Board
36 x 36 inch
Price: $3000
Story Behind the Painting: A drive through a picturesque landscape inspired this triptych of three single trees. I noticed this single tree standing tall alongside the road. It was all alone—a solitary self. It wasn't in a grove of other trees similar to its kind, but yet it seemed to have purpose and intention. I wanted to paint three different interpretations using the same tree as a reference. It, thus, became a triptych, which I called "The Single Trees." Each one was single but together became a unit.
